Microblading hair strokes being applied to a client's eyebrow at The Brow Clinic NY in Huntington, Long Island

Full, natural-looking brows that don’t wash off. Microblading is a semi-permanent cosmetic tattoo that recreates individual brow hairs stroke by stroke — filling gaps, rebuilding thin or over-plucked brows, and restoring the shape you were born with (or always wanted). At The Brow Clinic NY in Huntington Village, every set of brows is hand-mapped to your face and drawn hair by hair, for clients from all over Long Island, Nassau and Suffolk County.

What Is Microblading?

Microblading uses a fine manual blade made of tiny needles to deposit pigment into the surface layers of the skin in thin, crisp lines — each one mimicking a real brow hair. Done well, the strokes follow your natural growth pattern, so healed brows look like brows, not makeup. It’s the go-to technique for filling sparse areas, correcting asymmetry, and rebuilding brows lost to years of tweezing, aging, or medical conditions.

Why Long Island Clients Choose Microblading

  • Hyper-realistic hair strokes — the most natural-looking brow technique available
  • Custom mapping — your brow shape is measured and drawn to your bone structure before any pigment touches skin
  • No more daily filling — wake up, work out, swim: your brows stay put
  • Long-lasting — healed results typically last 1–3 years depending on skin type and lifestyle

Is Microblading Right for You?

Microblading works beautifully on normal to dry skin with fine, crisp stroke retention. It’s ideal if you have gaps, thinning tails, uneven arches, or very light brow hair.

It’s not the best fit for everyone — and we’ll tell you honestly at your consultation. If you have oily skin or larger pores, hair strokes can soften and blur as they heal. In that case, ombré powder brows usually heal sharper and last longer. Clients who are pregnant or nursing, on certain medications, or with some skin conditions may need to wait or choose another service — we screen for all of this before booking.

What to Expect at Your Appointment

  1. Consultation & brow mapping — we measure your face, sketch your ideal shape, and adjust it together until you love it.
  2. Color match — pigment is blended to your natural brow hair and undertone, never a flat one-shade-fits-all.
  3. Numbing — a topical anesthetic keeps you comfortable throughout.
  4. The procedure — about 2 to 2.5 hours from walk-in to walk-out, most of it mapping and refining.
  5. Perfecting session — a follow-up touch-up about 6–8 weeks later locks in strokes that lightened during healing.

Microblading Healing Timeline

Brows look bold and slightly dark for the first 3–5 days, then flake lightly through days 5–10. Around week two they can look faded — that’s normal, the pigment is settling under regenerating skin. By weeks 4–6 the true healed color surfaces, and your perfecting session fine-tunes anything that healed soft. Curious how long results hold? Read our guide to how long microblading lasts.

How Much Does Microblading Cost on Long Island?

Pricing across Long Island varies widely with the artist’s experience, the studio, and whether the perfecting session is included — and cheap microblading is usually expensive to fix. At The Brow Clinic NY your consultation is free: we’ll assess your skin and brows, confirm microblading is the right technique (not just the trendy one), and give you exact pricing before you commit.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does microblading hurt?

Most clients rate it a 2–3 out of 10. We numb before we begin and re-apply anesthetic during the session, so you’ll feel light scratching and pressure rather than pain.

How long does microblading last?

Typically 1–3 years. Oily skin, sun exposure, retinols and exfoliating acids fade strokes faster; a color-boost session refreshes them.

How long does microblading take to heal?

Surface healing takes about 10–14 days. The full, true color settles in over 4–6 weeks, which is why the perfecting session is scheduled around week 6–8.

Can I get microblading over an old tattoo or previous microblading?

Often yes — but it depends on how much old pigment remains and its color. Send us a photo or come in for a free assessment and we’ll map out the right correction plan.

Microblading vs. ombré powder brows — which should I pick?

Microblading = individual hair strokes, most natural on normal-to-dry skin. Ombré powder brows = a soft, shaded makeup look that outlasts strokes on oily skin. Many clients combine both in a combo brow — we’ll recommend the right one at your consult.

What should I avoid before my appointment?

Skip caffeine and alcohol for 24 hours, no aspirin or fish oil for 48 hours (with your doctor’s okay), and no Botox in the brow area within 2 weeks of your session.
